Had a very busy day of sightseeing yesterday. The Vatican museums, including the Sistene Chapel, in the am. St. Peter's Basilica in the pm. We were very fortunate to meet up in line for St. Peter's with Josef, a local Italian man (lives 2 blocks from St. Peter's) who spoke excellent English. He showed us the trick for moving through the line quickly and gave us a personlized tour. He'd been there many times and was extremely knowledgable. The scale of that building is awesome (in the traditional sense of the word)! After that we took the subway over to the Coliseum and toured it as well. Back to the hotel for a rest, then out for a late dinner, Italian style. Weather is in the low 30s and quite humid. Today we take the train to Civitavechia, where we'll be boarding the Noordam.
