Left Sydney at 6.30am meeting my new tour group, 35 of us. The tour is called Topdeck and the tour leaders are great....Woody & Deano. Everyone seems really nice and a real mix of ages, so not the oldest one thankfully.
We arrived in Crescent Head where we stayed at a surf camp called 'Surfari'. Very rustic place, we had to drink rainwater and eat organic food. Straight into our 1st surf lesson. It was a very gentle introduction to surfing, which I thought might frustrate me as i've done surfing a few times before, but after seeing the Ocean, I was quite glad, it looked really scary. We started off in a Tea Tree lake, which I can only desribe as looking like the colour of coke. It was really lovely and made our skin feel great. We tried surfing techniques in the lake first, then went into the sea which was terrifying.
Later that night we returned for burritos, drinks and a sing song around the camp fire.
