The morning of the surf camp we were woken up at the crack of dawn to get the best surf conditions. It was much calmer and much more productive, actually managed to stand up quite a lot. The instructor even used the words "you're a natural", yeah right!!
After lunch we head to Byron Bay via a trip to Coffs Harbour briefly. We saw tons of Kanagaroos here, very cute. In Byron we stayed in a cabin on a caravan site. Our tour leaders did us a mega Barbie (with lots of shrimps and kangaroo steaks!) and some potent sangria, which got us all pretty tipsy. We went out to a bar, which was mostly a chatting type place so we could all get to know eachother. Everyone in the group seems to get on really well.
The next day was pretty chilled, we just hung out in Byron...beach, shopping, eating etc. In the evening the whole group went for fish & chips on the beach watching the sun go down drinking goon (cheap boxed wine). We went to a night club called Cheeky Monkeys for the night and danced the night away on tables.
On our last morning in Byron, our tour leader made us Blueberry Pancakes (we were all very subdued this morning). We went to Cape Byron this morning where there is the famous Byron Bay lighthouse and which is also Australia's most easterly point. We then left Byron in the direction of the Gold Coast.
