My last night in Auckland was a full one, after I updated this I went in search of Laura who I found in the basement with some Israeli guys and a geordi. I'm now the proud owner of a video of Israeli rapping. Funny.

Left Auckland on Thursday and travelled south to spend the night in Whitianga. Bit of a whirlwind tour in the end really, with me not actually seeing the area at all - but I did get very well aquainted with a place called the Lost Springs. It's a spa and a very nice one at that! Some guy has spent 20 years building it with natural hot water springs, waterfalls, heated pools and all sorts. Lovely. Spent my evening there with a few girls that I met on the bus. Treated ourselves to a very overpriced cocktail (we got the day really cheap as we are, well, cheap) but it was tres nice all the same!

Woke up at some stupidly early hour (honestly I thought early mornings were behind me - bus keeps turning up at 7 something) and headed further south with a stop off at the Waitomo caves. I did some black water rafting here, through an assortment of underground caves that have thousands of pretty little glow worms suspended from the ceiling. The guy did start our tour explaining about nasty bugs that are attracted to the headlamp we were wearing, so to simply 'pluck' them from your face if they went for you. I assumed he was joking...

Should be getting some pics emailed to me, so I might put them up, really depends how bad they are (think wetsuit, helmet, white wellies and a rubber ring...)

Last part of my journey was on to Rotorua where I am staying for a couple of days, although it is currently raining, so not seeing too much of this area as of yet! Think a trek to the supermarket is in order! xx
