Well, I'm finally here. My final stop on my Australian adventure. Arrived in Darwin yesterday, for a short stopover before continuing my journey to Singapore. I left Mike at the airport in Cairns, his journey home starts with a flight to Sydney.
I wanted to put down a list of things that I had thought and experienced over here - things that I would want to remember in years to come when I look back over my rambellings. However, I don't think that I have had any particularly interesting thoughts - so you'll have to deal with the below. Think that this will be a bit of a 'work in progress'...
1- The water disappearing the wrong way down a sink is not that impressive nor awe inspiring. And toilets don't flush the wrong way - because the water just vanishes then is replaces. There you go. Now you know.
2- Australia is BIG - I mean it. I know you can look at a map and think to yourself 'oh yes, what a big country' but really. This place is huge. I've travelled about 5,000 kilometers (I haven't the faintest idea what that is in miles...) and not even scratched the surface.
3- I've spent more time on a bus than I think is healthy for one person in such a short period of time. Unless it was my job. And payment was involved.
4- Whoever decided that McDonalds should have small icecream cones for 50c was a genius. And should be paid more.
5- People really do say 'Good on you mate' and then follow it up with 'Crikey'.
6- I'll get back to you with 6... xx
