Well, one day down 239 to go :) Had a pretty productive day to start with, for me. Having been awake for what felt like weeks, I fully expected to snooze well into Weds. Wrong. I was kick-started into the cruel real world at 5am. And with a skyscaper being built right next to my hostel, chances of nodding off after that were minimal...
Followed the good old lonely planets city walk round Auckland - (consult your local library for the full breakdown) but did find a lovely little park area, accessed through some crazy overhanging trees on a pretty steep hill. Sat and watched the world go by for a while - until, very slowly and without talking a large group assembled to my left. Now, it could have been that they were a tour group, true. But convinced that they were going to attempt some sort of mass suicide whilst eating their ham sandwiches, I (wisely) took myself off, before having to give a statement to any local officers.
There will be some pictures uploaded at some point (proabaly when I have a cable with me) apologies now for the 'jaunty angles'.
So my little walk (I say little, took me about 6 hours) finished up at the harbour, just in time for some really late lunch. (Subway) which some little bird had his eye on and kept flying towards me. To passers by I must have looked like I was doing some sort of traditional dance - arms flapping, standing up, sitting down. I don't like the little birds much.
Then in true jetlag style, but 8pm I was shattered and went to bed. (Hey, I never promised that this would be glamourous)
Anyway, ta for reading. And Matt/Marie - if you are still reading - then clearly someone told you too ;)
