Leg 5 - race 7 - day 17
Woke at 12 midday sleeping better as temperature has dropped a little. Mind you not using sleeping bag yet as too hot for that.
Still have spinnaker up and flying along. I am hoping as we get nearer to land I will get some reception on my phone so I will be able to text the children. Seems like I have been away from home for so long. (40 days so far! )
Laid in my bunk for a while reading my book
Two weeks today is 17th Feb so should be in Vietnam then.
Went on deck at 3pm in shorts and t shirt but a storm came in with torrential rain got soaked though. Put a reef in then took it out an hour later. Changed into foulies and continued to get wet from the stray of the sea.
On standby 7-11 had dinner cleaned the heads and dozed : boat really bashing around winds picked up 30knots. Bed at 11pm woken at 2.30 am back on shift 3-7am the sky was really cloudy and dark not many stars could be seen tonight. Noticed a couple of fishing vessels so getting nearer to land. Had to keep a look out for the fishing board Many not on AIS
Came off 7am straight to bed
