We topped up on petrol (40THB) and scooted to Karon to have breakfast (11am). Jay had prawn Phad Thai and a pineapple shake. Helen had muesli with fresh yoghurt, fresh fruits and a grapefruit juice. We went to a tourist shop to enquire about how to get to Wat Chalong temple. We then topped up a further 90THB of petrol to get us to the temple. It took us 15 minutes to get to Wat Chalong. This was beautiful with many impressive temples. After Wat Chalong we went to see The Big Buddha of Phuket. The journey involved a steep and bendy climb up the mountain top. The views were amazing. The Big Buddha itself was an impressive monument and looked huge. We both participated in rubbing the lucky gong. We both managed to make the required sound which was like a high pitch echoey sound. Inside the temple there was a wishing tree, we both made a wish and donated 20 THB which we had to attach onto the tree. After The Big Buddha we wanted to get to Karon Beach but Jay missed a turning so we ended up taking a longer way to get to Karon beach. This route gave us a perspective of Phuket's busy traffic. When we got to Karon we took a few pictures and Jay had a swim. After this we went back to have a shower and went to Patong Beach to capture the sunset. The sun set behind the mountains which created a wonderful view.
We had dinner at the 'Royal Palm' restaurant, Jay had mince beef fried noodles with egg and a mug of Chang draught. Helen had crab fried rice. We also had a barbecue corn on the cob from a street stall and a Gelato ice cream from a shop called 'Time Out'.
In the evening we went to the 'Savoey' bar for drinks.
