Today we visited two temples the first was straight after breakfast here in Edfu, the temple for the falcon headed god, Horus.It is the second largest after Karnak and is one of the best preserved ancient temples.It is also the temple that our guide Ibrahim grew up near and one that inspired his passion for Egyptology.Then we re-boarded the ship to cruise to Kom Ombo.Not long after recommencing our voyage we sailed past Ibrahim's village. He was very excited to show us where his family is from and we were all interested to see it from the sundeck of our cruise ship.He also told us a how he is one of 11 children all of whom have attended uni here in Egypt.We arrived at the Kom Ombo Temple that is dedicated to the two Gods Sobek and Haroeis just after our on board lunch, we had about an hour to explore this temple before continuing to sail to Aswan.Although it was dark as we sailed into Aswan it was easy to tell it is a fairly big city by all the lights that we could see in the distance.Rene got a great picture of the Aswan Bridge that looks like two pyramids.We had another big buffet dinner on the boat and went up to the lounge to get good seats for the belly dancer.We were all joking about how it would be the guys that would be dragged up to night as it was a female dancer and were picking out the people who we thought would be picked (Rene and Martin were the two we thought were in the Hot Seats.The Show started with a bloke who did a lot of spinning.It is hard to explain but he was fantastic.Then the belly dancer came out.She wasn't that good (we saw better at the hotel in Luxor) but just like we thought she pulled 2 guys out of the audience from the other side of the room to dance with.Then she came over to our side of the room and walked straight towards Rene but went past him Martin started to panic then thinking for sure that he was gone but to everyone's shock she picked me!I was stunned and momentarily speechless I said to her you are supposed to get the boys she just shook her head and dragged me up.Everyone was laughing because I was one of the ones saying that she will pick Rene or Martin and she got me.After my exciting evening of belly dancing I watched a bit of TV before going to bed.
