So this Day began on the train and once we finally got off the train (3 hours late) we were taken to the Pyramids hotel for breakfast. This was a complete waste of time as we had already eaten on the train and because we got to the hotel at lunch time we went to a restaurant out by the pool where they had moved some of the pastries and bread from the mornings breakfast buffet. At least we only stopped for 30 min, and then we were on the bus for a three hour drive to Alexandria.I think our bus driver Saied was on a mission to make up some of our lost time as he motor along the freeway slowing only for the tolls and speed humps every now and then. Yes I said speed humps and we were on a freeway. The horn got a good work out on this trip too as that is what you use to overtake no such thing as indicators (or headlights or seatbelts) in Egypt. We arrived in Alex for a late lunch at a fish market restaurant. It was really good food and there was a great view of the Mediterranean Sea, then we went to the Bibliotheca (which is famous apparently) and while it was very nice the highlights were looking for the English letters on the outside walls (there are characters from every language in the world adorning the exterior of the main building), seeing Red Symonds there and running across the 8 lane road to take a photo.By the time we left the library it was dark so we headed to our hotel and once we got to our room we were so exhausted from our travels we crashed for the evening.
