After a 6 hour largely uneventful but enjoyable train journey we arrived in Bergen. Loaded with huge rucksack,s we set off to find our apartment - Bergen is a beautiful traditional fishing town, set in a picturesque harbour, with the town overlooking this focal point, like a Roman theatre reaching up the mountain and our apartment as you wil lhave guessed, was at the top ...... We finally climbed there with the assistance of two oxygen stops and three locals who had never hearrd of the place.The town was well worth the effort and an excellent Vietnamese meal, funded by Adam rounded off our day ....well almost - a game of cards, assisted by copious amounts of Gin and Tonic, left us strangely happy but with only a litre of Vodka left and the harsh Russian winter to face.
