We parted from Norway and Adam at Stavanger airport, Adam had been a brilliant travelling companion and we will miss him a lot. In Stockholm we got our first real experience of a double room in a hostel - Nelson Mandela's cell in Robben Island was three paces long by two paces wide, co-incidentally so was our room, but the hostel was exceptionally clean and the people friendly. On the second night we, along with a group of aspiring Swedish Chefs, all with lopsided hats and dodgy accents (the Muppet show has a lot to answer for) we made our own "Svedish Meatballs" . Over the three days, we visited all the sights, including a day spent cycling the National City parks and a steamer out into the archipelago for a dinner treat from Heather's Mum. A friendly Swede told us that Stockholm is surrounded by 33,000 islands but seemed totally oblivious to the amount of salad dressing it represented. On our last day we visited the Vasa museum which was constructed around a huge salvaged 17th century warship, which is now on display indoors -WOW …. Never seen anything like it in our life. We are now on board a Viking Ship bound for Helsinki with Vodka stocks replenished and ready for fresh adventures.
