WEDNESDAY - Calgary Stampede. we bought tickets to the afternoon rodeo and watched an Aussie bloke; Andrew Benger (something like that), win the junior bareback broncs, and lots of other bull riding and barrel racing and steer wrestling events. lil old Harvey d*** ons doesnt have much on this!

THURSDAY - drove in to Kananaskis country; southern end of the Rockies. we camped near some huge lakes that night, the camping ground puts on a ampitheatre, Steven "volunteered" to dress up like a mountain goat and act in the performance! he was fantastic!!!

FRIDAY - in the morning we woke up to snow! on the way around the lakes heading towards Banff we saw a female moose, elk and even....a female grizzly bear!!!!! hiked about 5km up a mountain, through knee deep snow (exaggeration, about 10cm) to a beautiful lake. camped in Banff.

SATURDAY - Johnstons Canyon with the other 40billion weekend tourists (its summer school holidays here), but between competing for the view it was very beautiful. we saw male elk with massive antlers! camped at waterfowl lakes.

SUNDAY - drove up the icelands parkway to Jasper, we stopped at a big glacier (with a big native name that we cant spell or say), we went out on the glacier with a snowcoach tour; which is a bus that has 6 massive floatation tyres. stopped in Jasper then headed West towards Prince George. camped halfway.

MONDAY/TODAY - finished driving to P.G, i fell in a lake on the way; typical, now we are trying to navigate this town/city. none of the internet places let you upload photos here, so we'll have to keep you all posted for photos of snow, elk, moose, (unfortantly we didnt get any photos of Steven dress-up like a moutain goat or me falling in the lake, sorry)

the plan is to head across to Prince Rupert (everyone thinks they are a prince here) were we will take the ferry up the coast to Alaska (depending on cost etc.)
