"One for our grandchildren"
Hello Mattie and Katy we thought of you today and wished you were with us to enjoy a ride on this little red train. It is not as good as the train at Pecorama but it was special as it took us over the sea to the end of a long jetty. Busselton Jetty is very old and is the longest wooden jetty on this side of the world. At over a mile long they needed a train to take goods to and from the big ships that used to sail here before it was possible to come overland.
The ships don't come any more but the little train took us right out to the end where the sea is quite deep. We then climbed down some steps to an observatory where we could look through windows right into the sea and watch all the fish swimming by. It was very exciting and we will show you some photos when we get home.
We have lots of other photos of Australia to show you especially pictures of kangaroos and emus that live in the fields by our holiday house.
Tomorrow is a big day in Australia as it us the Grand Final of the Australian Rules Football League. Everyone is very excited about it and will be supporting either the Sidney Swans or The Hawks from Melbourne. We are supporting The Hawks and have one of their special footballs to bring home for you both to play with.
We hope you are both well and enjoying school. We are looking forward to hearing all about it when we get back from Australia which won't be too long now. Lots of love and kisses from Grandad and Granny Heather xxx
