Our time in Hong Kong has come to an end and we are about to hit the roads and airways again Australia bound.
Yesterday was well spent on a trip to Lantau Island in the New Territories. Our destination was a giant Bronze Buddah and monastery high up in the hills. Getting there involved a 40 minute cable car ride which was extremely high up and seemingly suspended from thin air. ( not one for you Georgette) Stunning views but just after we disembarked it broke down. Our guide then told us he had been stuck in it for over 2 hours once! Thankfully our way down the mountain was by bus calling in at a fishing village on the way to the ferry.
We sit in the hotel lobby in some trepidation as the locals predict that the typhoon to hit Taiwan over the last few days is heading this way. Just hoping our plane will get out in time. Hopefully our next blog will be from Australia??!!
