We love our hotel and it is in a great location right by the Star Ferry terminal.
After a beer by the pool we hopped on the ferry and went over to Kowloon for the evening. Supper first in the Jade Garden recommended by Dino who drove us from the airport to our hotel. Lovely meal although we kept it light after the stodgy food on the plane ( see photos)
Then headed up Nathan Avenue a Mecca for shopping. From street markets to all the top designers there is no sign of a recession in Hong Kong. There were even orderly queues of young Chinese outside the likes of Prada, Chanel and Hermes. Big shops but still more shoppers than they can cope with.
Back along the harbour and watched some street performers for a while, a choir of over 60's I would say all dressed up to the nines and singing familiar songs in Cantonese.
Back across the harbour on the ferry and into the delicious cool of our hotel. (32 and very sticky outside)
It's now 1am Hong Kong time Thursday night. I only had a couple of hours sleep Tuesday at home before we left, hardly any sleep on the plane wednesday night and I'm still wide awake. David has no such problem! Hopefully it will catch up with me soon as lots of lovely things planned for tomorrow. H x
