Well, unfortunately we didnt make it out to the country side yesterday. I was really bummed. But we woke up at about 930 and found that the latest bus left at 10 and there was no way we could make it on time... =( again... theres another reason to come back!! (i am gathering those by the bunch! i love it!) Instead we had a pretty relaxed day which i think we needed. We went to walk around on a shopping street and did some shopping which was fun. Then we ate at TGI Fridays mostly because we wanted to see what they thought the "American Resturant" was like. It was funny!! i took some pictures inside and the thing that popped out at me was the "24 hour Bail Bonds" sign on the wall!!! We were like "?????" is THAT what you think about americans??? it was super funny! then we came back to the hostel and met the canadian sleeping next to us (yes, she too sports the flag) and we all decided we would go out to the bars. We met some people in our hostel earlier who said they were doing an irish bar tender guided pub crawl so we were going to join them... but when we arrived at the bar they said they were at, they werent there... that actually turned out to be the beginning of the greatest night this trip has shown us (or me anyway). We decided to head over the the Temple Bar which is a very widely know bar here in Dublin. After fallowing Christine (the canadian) the wrong way we finally made it and it was soooo packed! AND we got carded which was AWESOME since drinking age out here is 18! And when we went inside there was live irish music and so many people that i am surpised the walls didnt burst. We made it to the bar and the bar tender intorduced me to cider... YUM! so we we got our drinks and decided to head to the front where you could see the band. We sort of joined these 2 guys at their table so we would have a place to sit and they ended up being from france which excited christine since she is a fleuent french speaker... french canadian anyway but still... they were one big happy french speaking family. They told me i had a great accent but i tried not to speak much since i was TERRIBLE at it and they spoke english. So while we were up at the front rocking out with the irish band (there was a guitarist, a violinist, and a guy that played the flute/clarinet mix thing) this irish guy comes over to our table and pulls Danielle onto the 3 feet square dance floor and starts kicking his legs and swinging her around! It was HILARIOUS!!! we took a TON of pictures!! i even got one of him knocking my drink over with his behind as anf was swinging her around!! it was an accidental shot but caputred the moment incredibly! We decided to go for another round (i think that would have been our 3rd at that point) and ran into some other irish guys who were crawling with their own group. So we decided to go with them and we brought the french guys along too! After figuring out where everyone was we headed over to the next place which was also had traditional iish music playing live. we danced over there and i got a drink spilled right down the front of my shirt... that was not fun! but we still had a great time! we laughed so much and just had a ball! Then we were going to head to another place but ended up just going bacxk to our hostel (us girls only of course). We had such a great night!! One i will definitely never forget and the pictures completely tell the story of the evening! i loved it! Well, we are getting ready to head to the airport for our last stop of the trip - london. Its a bitter sweet feeling but i am ready to head home... if for nothing else than to get a good shower, some good food and the company of all my family and friends.
Well, i will try to write there but if not i will see you soon!! =)
Lots of Love,
xoxo,
Chanelle
