We arrived at Wanaka at about 3pm and again it was lovely and sunny, so we got checked in and made our way to the beach with the girlies. We sunbathed for a bit and then had a drink in a nearby bar. After dinner we decided to head out and see what the little town of Wanaka had to offer.

It was Steves' birthday so we bought him a cup cake, put a candle in it and sang happy birthday to him in the hostel bar. We stayed in there for a little while, but soon left, as it started to fill up with old locals and hill billies! So, we ended up in a place called Shooters where we drank too much and started talking to some Kiwi guys. We had a great but very random night with them! The local police ended up coming into the bar and over to us. We thought they were going to chuck us out for being too drunk, but they started talking to us and then somehow we managed to end up being handcuffed and playing with their radio! Great fun!! So it ended up being a very big night. Not really what we needed, when we had to get up for the bus at 8am the next morning!
