Day 4
Lie in this morning as we didn't have to check out until 9.30am. We were all awake early though because of all the early mornings.
Today we had a free day to enjoy Coral Bay (the photo above). A group of us decided to hire snorkel gear and hit the beach. The beach was beautiful - turquoise waters and crisp white sands and the sun was shining. The snorkling on the Ningaloo Reef was awesome - the water was warm and there were so many different fish. We spent a fair amount of time in the water exploring the reef - no turtle or ray though :0(
We left Coral Bay about 4pm and drove the hour and a half to Exmouth. Arrived at our overnight accommodation which was motel block at a caravan park. The park had very good facilities. Unfortunately Libby our tour guide had to take one of the girls from our trip to hospital as she had a raging temperature. Dinner was fish and chips - yum yum.
And that was Day 4.
Day 5
Again woke up to crap weather, it was overcast and looking very much like it was going to chuck it down, not good for the snorkling day we had planned. We spent the morning in town waiting to see if the rain would clear. We all brought some $2 tat, and that's where the boobs, the mascot of our trip came about!
At 11am we set off into the magnificient Cape Range National Park. First stop was the lighthouse, which was very very windy but you could see for miles over the ocean. Then we headed to Yardie Creek Gorge which was beautiful and the sun even managed to come out for us. It was so nice to feel the sun on our backs again. Also made a stop at Sandy Bay - and yes its just as it sounds.
Spent the afternoon at Turquoise Bay, another beautiful location. Chilled out on the beach for a few hours enjoying the warm sunshine.
Then it was back to the campsite to have a good wash in preparation for our next five nights of camping! Dinner was spag. bol., yep you've guessed it, cooked on the barbie!
And that was days 4 and 5.
