Hi
Day 14 we had a bit of a lie in as it was a 'free day'. After a chilled out morning, repacking our bags for Malaysia a few of us decided to head in Au Nang.
We then decided to get a longtail boat to West Riley beach, which the loney planet gave really good reviews. After bartering with the longboat drivers about how many people they would take, (they said they ewouldn't go until we had 7 people, we were a 6 or we paid the extra fare, so after lots of to-ing and fro-ing we ended up paying the extra!) we were off! They aren't the most elegant of things to get into or the most comfortable to sit in! It was a short 10 minute ride to the beach, which was just as well really as i can't say it was a particulary enjoyable experience!
West Riley beach didn't really live up to our expectations, there was ots of rubbish and bits of debris on the beach and in the water, from the storm before. But even so the beach wasn't as beautiful as the ones on the Phi Phi Islands, but hey it still wasn't bad!
Randomly met Kevin who was on our Uluru trip in on Australia on the beach so it was nice to catch up with him.
At around 4pm the clouds started to buid up and look very threatening so we braved the longboat back to the mainland. Then took refuge in an internet cafe for a while. Got a motorbike tuk tuk back to the hotel, yet another Thai experience maybe not to be repeated! Had dinner at the hotel watching the storm over the sea.
Love Hayley and Rose. x
