Hey everyone,

On day 12 we left Morning Mist at 10.00am in air-conditioned taxis - luxury! Then it was a 2.5hour drive to Krabi which everyone had been looking forward to for quite a few days! We arrived at the Dawn of Happiness resort and were not dissappointed - the resort was right on the beach! We are sharing a bungalow again in pairs, the accomodation has been much better than expected for a budget holiday. We dumped our bags and went to sit on our beach and catch a few rays of sun.

After a while we decided ot go to Ao Nang, the main beach resort in the area. We spent the afternoon on the beach. Its not the most picturesque beach, but we're not really complaining! The sea was soo warm, it was like having a hot bath, not entirely refreshing! We had an early tea at an Italian restaurant, food we'd all been craving as a break from Thai food! It was delicious! We spent the evening drinking on the beach at the resort.

Early start Day 13, it was Kho Phi Phi day! We got a songthaew to the beach and then hopped on our speedboat. It took around 40mins to get to the islands. Our first stop was to look at Viking Cave, where the locals risk their lives trying to get ingredients from birds nests for a Chinese soup - mad!!! We went round the corner to Pi Leh Bay, a beautiful lagoon where we all jumped off the boat into the water and had a short swim - paradise! After that we went snorkelling at Lohsamah Bay. The water was crystal clear and there were so many fish. The guys on the boat threw some bread into the water and we got surrounded by the fish - amazing!

We stopped at Phi Phi Ley and Maya Bay, the setting for the film The Beach. We had fun taking "Shipwrecked" photographs. THe scenery was just what you imagine from Thailand's beaches, its just a shame we were sharing it with a hundred other people!Lunch was on Phi Phi Don - a Thai buffet. For a moment you forget where you are, then turn around and see the spectacular views. After lunch we went open sea snorkelling in Hin Kling. We managed to see the corals as well as the fish. We then went to Bamboo Island where we got to relax for an hour and feed the fish watermelon! All too quickly it was all over and we were on our way back to the resort.

In the evening we had another Italian, one pizza just wasn't enough! We then had a few drinks in one of the local bars then caught antoher taxi back to the resort.
