Hi everyone,
We got woken up at 5.30am by "excuse me, good morning!" from the most feminine of male train attendant ever (V you would have loved him!). We had breakfast in a cafe by the train station then got our songthaews (open converted trucks with seats in the back) to Khao Sok.
We stayed at the Morning Mist resort, just outside the National Park which was lovely. Each pair of people stayed in their own rustic bungalow with a hammock on the porch. The gardens were beautiful (Mum B, took some pictures for you!). We had lunch at the resort restaurant, then we went tubing!
Tubing involved us going down the river in rubber rings. It was yet another Thai experience! Rose hit the bank of the river and trees more than once, and her knees came off a little worse for wear! Hayley ended up getting beached in a deposition zone and losing her sunnies! We saw 2 black & yellow snakes in the trees overhanging the river. Rose did a rope swing into the river and got a lot of water up her nose!
On the way back we stopped at Tiger Temple to feed the monkies. They were everywhere, in the songthaews, under them and on top of them!
We had dinner at the resort and started working our way through the fruit shake menu! It was Jun's birthday so we bought him a few bottles of alcohol and all had a drink to celebrate.
On day 11 we went into the National Park and walked to a waterfall. We could only go to a small one as the bigger ones were closed as its rainy season. The water was nice and we had fun swimming with everyone else. The park was a bit dissappoiting, we didn't see much wildlife or scenery and just ended up walking along dirt tracks to the waterfall. In the afternoon Hayley went to get a manicure and pedicure and Rose got a foot massage. The evening was spent in the restaurant having another lovely meal. After we worked our way through the cocktail list!
Lots of love, Hayley and Rose x
