Saturday 11th September
Woke up hungover this morning and we decided to wash our sleeping bags at the laundrette and work clothes. We went on the internet and treated ourselves to a coffee at the coffee shop then did a big shop in Canmore $65. We stocked up on all things tin and packet - which back home i would never eat! Still needs must on the van and our shop mainly consisted of tinned ravioli, pasta, eggs, rice, tuna, bread etc. Our rule is only buy food that is approx $1! I would say our meals are usually $3 for both of us. We shared a butter chicken takeaway which we liked the last time we visited Canmore then rolled into a car park and took a nice hungover nap. We then purchased 2 ice hocky tickets and watched the eagels play. The tickets came with a free Hotdog and drink as it was first game of the season. It was the Junior League so they were all around 18 years old and damn they were fast! We had our picture taken with their mascot Eddie the Eagel and cheered them on. Unfortunately they lost 6 - 4 I think the score was?
The couple who we are renting our apartment from has offered us another appt in the same block but $100 cheaper. It is slightly bigger, has a woodburner, is on the top floor and has a bigger table and fridge/freezer. Its $100 cheaper becuase their is not a door to the bedroom just a shutter. We accepted after we saw pictures on the internet. The block is all run by electric and all bills included. This is our final week at work so we are working 7 days to get some pennies in. There is a good group of people at the High Country Inn who we have just got to know so it will be sad to leave. It will be weired worrying where our next shower is going to come from. Its getting cold now and I dont think we will be able to wash in the lakes anymore as its frosty? Maybe we will sneek into some hostels or campsites and use the showers there. Another road trip awaits us!
