Friday 8th April
Half the money paid (we were to pay in the rest bank when in the Galapagos.) We got a taxi back to the airport for our flight to Santa Cruz; INFO. Our bags had to be extra scanned and searched for this flight as there are alot of restrictions on what can be taken into the Galapagos!
Flight was fine; we landed in Baltra; a small island north of Santa Cruz. We had to get a boat over to Santa Cruz then a public bus for an hour to the town of Puerto Ayora; the largest town in terms of population and size in the Galapagos (approx 18,500) We didn't have any accommodation booked when we arrived in Puerto Ayora so Joe went off to find a room for the night. Room found (it was rank!) we dumped our stuff and went for a wander; we found a little family of sea lions chilling on the pier so spent a while watching them, then we looked around the shops, had dinner and headed back to sleep.
Saturday 9th April
This morning we headed straight out to find another hostel! We settled on a hotel up the road, took our stuff and chilled for a while. We then went to get our supplies for 8 days at sea! Had dinner and a few drinks and back to bed!
