Up early in the hope that there was room on first bus to Trinidad - fortunately scraped in. Even though you arrive at a bus station, with the clear intention of getting a bus, still hoards of taxi drivers think they can persuade you to get in their taxi. Yet in trying to get to the bus station, had to wait a good 15mins for a car to pull over that was a) a taxi, and b) not full of drunk people going home from their Saturday night out (no doubt including the driver). 6.5 hour coach to Trinidad. Arrived to a swarm of 'animals' with bits of cardboard which they shoved in your face whilst shouting at you from about 2 inches in an attempt to lure you to their Casa - honestly about 10 of them per frightened traveller. Refused all their advances until one lady approached in a more polite and calm manner. Good choice as our Casa turned out to be with a very nice little family with a 3 year old boy (although a cheeky little terror) and the evening meal was lovely and plentiful. Spent the afternoon getting to know Trinidad, wandering around the squares, churches, markets and eating peso pizza and ice cream. In the evening supped mojitos whilst watching live band and salsa dancing.
