Oh my word. What a day. Now this is a long long story and not one which can be told in full here, but in short; we caught 1 taxi (not 2), 2 ferries, 0 trains (not 2), 1 bus (not 2), and had 6 separate trips in police cars (not 5). Despite planning on a nice relaxing day at the seaside we spent a combined total of 20 seconds in the sea, 20 mins on the sand, and 20 hours in particularly non accommodating 'police custody'. Today we have experienced first hand how cuba really works, or in most cases how it does not. Some words of advice: never give chase to 2 cuban thieves, never report anything stolen to Cuban police, and never ever try and console yourself by eating Cuban cheerios out of a massive metal dog bowl.
