For Becky's birthday we had a big bbq on Coogee beach, the nicer one round from Bondi. Was a really good day and quite novel to be not only barbequing on the beach, but in December too. Went back and played some games at their flat afterwards which ended up with hilarious pictures and a video on Becky's camera she's yet to put online (do it if you're reading this - it's worth the three hours!)
Quit my job this month as I didn't want to be working xmas or new year, wanted to spend time with Rob, and probably move from Sydney early January too, boss wasn't best pleased as a lot of the team are quite new and I've been there for a couple months so know what I'm doing, but never mind, had to be done.
Rob came to visit this month, we went straight out to Carols in the Domain when he (finally - delayed due to the snow) got here to try and prevent his jetlag. Had loads of famous people there but we got too tired too early and left, was good fun though.
Ended up having a weird Christmas, tried to go to Bondi but it was really cold and windy and there was a huge queue to get in to the event so sat on the beach but it was unbearable after a few minutes with the sand blowing in our faces so went back to the city and got a curry and watched a film, quite novel for Christmas day. Boxing day went to more races and was the only one to win!! Spent it on the next race, but still.
New years eve we got into town at 7am to queue to get in for the famous firework display on the Sydney harbour bridge. Finally got in about 1pm and then jut had to sit on the damp grass waiting all day, veeeeeeeery long day. Ended up trying to sleep for most of it but that just led to a sore neck. The fireworks were really good but not sure worth a whole day of waiting, would have been ideal if one of our flats overlooked the bridge to watch it from the balcony instead, but was still an experience.
