Second week in Sydney:
Basically most of this week was spent viewing flats with Becky and Kirsty, we planned to share a room between the three of us to make it affordable to live right in the centre. Didn't find anything quite right though unfortunately so moved hostel to one where Alex, Tom and Paddy booked into for Thursday. Still central and cleaner and quieter than the last one, plus with cheaper internet. Moving hostel was not fun though - even though we got a taxi was still incredibly stressful and painful! Not sure how we're going to do this for the rest of the year!! Especially once it starts to get hotter! The weather has been average so far, not too warm and quite cold at night but still sunny mostly. Started to get really hot at the weekend though, about 30 degrees luckily as we spent both days on beaches.
The boys arrived on Thurs whilst we were viewing some more houses but when we got back went out for a wander together. In the eve sat on the balcony with some dreaded Goon which they are already well accustomed to from their trip down the East coast in 'Fritz' their German campervan. Saturday we went to Manly beach which is supposed to be the best around, was fairly busy though as it was a weekend but the weather was good and I ended up burning my shins as i was convinced legs don't burn (like they don't get cold) and didn't put cream on them. Got forced into the freezing sea but ran out refusing to go back when Tom said he'd felt something touch his foot! Alex got his hair cut short which was a momentous occasion for all involved. In the evening we got back on the Goon with various games that ended up in Becky being sick in the room by 9pm because she didn't understand 'i have never' and ended up drinking for everything regardless and the rest of us heading out in search of karaoke but instead ending up members of the Mandarin club. Interesting.
Sunday we went to Bondi again in hope of meeting up with the guys but they had gone on to Bronte beach further south as there were no spaces for them to park at Bondi because it was the festival of wind and so too busy. So didn't get to say bye and now they are on their way down to Melbourne but never mind. We still had a good day looking at all the massive kites and shows at Bondi. Then Becky and I just went to get an amazingly cheap Dominoes pizza deal and ended up getting chased down the road by a drunk tramp demanding a slice who then spat at us when we got into the hostel! Nice end to the night!
