Ok last japanese blog so Just a few thoughts on japan as i haven't done much in the last few days besides shop drink chat eat and oh,visited the famous red light district which is pretty underwhelming besides the various offers for illicit meetings (one from a tout dressed as a stormtrooper ,maybe it was some weird star wars fetish bar??)you could be in any shopping street in tokyo as in all things,, japan is a closed of society everything is behind closed doors ,most Japanese people are very reserved no one argues in public no one breaks the rules, not sure why as the few who do go seemingly unpunished ,the police were stood about a foot away from me with loud speakers telling people it was illegal to smoke on the streets as I and half a dozen Japanese smoked in plain view nothing was said .the country went through an economic and inventive boom in the 80s and became what we no as a futuristic country, however since then they closed them selves off and now things seem a little dated.it is a very traditional society ( besides the mass consumption of japanese products and japanese girls love of h and m and top shop)lots of hot bath houses everyone is naked but never speak to each other in fact most of the time the Japanese wont even make any eye contact don't get me wrong they are helpfully and very friendly and bloody efficient at everything ,but don't like to really bother you so leave you alone which can be good and bad and also they have no concept of relaxing besides the hot baths which are very hot .they don't even have comfy chairs and no outside space at home due mainly to the massive population 2.5 times of England and lack of space.even when you have dinner they eat quick time and are gone.due to there hectic lives you find Japanese people asleep on park benches and on every train and subway (they play different music for stops so you don't sleep past yours) during my short time here in Japan I even fell asleep on the subway . I think the japanese need to learn just to chill ,there is something fundamentally wrong with a country that don't have hammocks or Rastas (you no what I mean).don't get me wrong it's a very beautiful and interesting country to visit but it's all go ..if you love culture amazing japanese food very weird experiences and hiking ,lots of hiking ( every part of my body aches) then come to Japan if you like to lie in a hammock and listen to bob Marley and live cheaply visit another south east Asian country ,one question I never got answered was why Japanese books are printed back to front it's very confusing.goodbye Japan I've loved every minute and the few japanese i have spoken to .one guy even stopped me in the street today to say hello he was very excited to meet me even came back with sweets to give me(although they were pretty rank like a mix between coffee and cigarettes)but it's time for china.and as irony goes the last placed I stay in Japan has a back decked area and a hammock but it's raining and my last nights meal was a chicken jalfrezi ( only Indian I have come across in Japan (and its expensive kicking off at the price of curry but on longer reflection its only £8 obviously in full tight travellers mode again)but feel bad not ending on a japanese dinner sake and karaoke but after a day in naritta with Americanism it's like I left Japan when I got on that train in Tokyo). Sayonara, watashi no tomodachi.
