Jane and I went for a nice stroll over the golden gate bridge - we even had fog covering the top pylons. Unfortunately I was looking at the fog and Jane stopped in front of me and I ended up sprawled on the ground - so I have grazed hands knees and elbows as a souvineer! The only thing to do after losing skin and dignity was to go shopping - macy's gift with purchase on makeup still legendary value! I was a bit disappointed with what was in the shops - not sure if it is we are not looking in the right places or nothing is grabbing us, but maybe it is good not to be tempted.
Lunch was at the famous cheesecake factory at macy's overlooking union square. More than just cheesecake, it was an over the top famous restaurant that serves the bigger than ben hur meals in faux baroque surrounds! However we had a beetroot goats cheese rocket and walnut salad each, shared bowl of fries and bread total cost of the meal $9 each including tax and tip! Dinner was not so cheap but amazing Vietnamese food at a waterfront restaurant. It's not all travel and fun, Jane and I went to the hotel laundry to wash some clothes, with a bottle of wine for company and ended up meeting some really nice people and having quite a social night in the tiny laundry propped up against the dryers! You never know what the day will bring!
