Today started with a train journey to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
With the sun out again we strolled across the bridge. We watched people walking over the bridge as well as taking in the views of the Harbour area.
At the other side of the bridge we explored the Rocks area, & grabbed a beer at the oldest pub in Sydney.
We then walked around the Opera House & the wharf area, where despite being it being the middle of the morning, it was bustling diners & joggers.
Next on the agenda was a ferry to Watsons Bay for local fish & chips. The fish, barrimundi, was very nice & quite different to the more greasy fish back home, this was washed down with a glass of Semillon from nearby Hunters Valley. The beach at Watsons Bay had a great view of the Sydney skyline. I quickly nipped into the water but didn't venture far as there were no shark nets. An ice cream on the beach, was as you have realised an integral part of the trip.
The journey by the ferry allowed us to see the various yacht clubs in the area as well as some nearby Bays. Upon our return we headed for a bottle of champagne at the Opera bar where we had a great view of the opera house, the bridge, & the harbour.
After some souvenir shopping, we picked up some prawns for dinner & headed back to rest up before the mountains tomorrow.
