Hi all
it´s been a while-but, hey settling in can be quite the straining task! We´ve been to Ikea. Did I mention the rushing through the store to pick up 2 beds, 2 matresses and a couch about 15 minutes before closing time??? Ikea closes at 7pm in Australia. hm. Well-to put it mildly, we were stressed. But we got our beds home in the massive car we´d rented (...check the video). It was quite entertaining driving that huge car. Yes-I´ve driven on the left hand side before. BUT not with a - well -I wouldn´t be mistaken if I say 3 metres long. And since we got sort of lost on the way to Ikea-it really took us all night to get the furniture and drive them home, not to mention assembling it all... It´s all over and done with, beds are placed and made, we´ve got a table to have dinner at and there´s a nice-ish couch in the living room. Might invite the neighbours one day-they´re really nice!
We´ve basically settled in and have had a few nice dinners already. The couch has proven to be just perfect for 2 people studying or just keeping facebook updated. Since we don´t have a tv, the books I brought are read, and the wall is rather boring to stare at...we´re online a lot. That is untill summer arrives...the beach is really really near. (Check out the latest addition to the photo albums!)
Uni has started and there´s an assignment due very soon. Seems like a great system here-we focus on where our work placement will be in a pre-course. Both Caroline and I are in mental health placements since it´s part of the nursing education in Norway. (In Australia the nursing students choose their line of speciality, like mental health, pediatrics, elderly care and few others). I´m placed in a ward with a number of different diagnoses which I´m really looking forward to!
Well-that´s it for now. Must get back to working on that assignment.
cheers,
Hanne
