As we had a bit of time to kill before our train to Amritsar we were able to take the time to visit Udaipur which had been recommended by a few people. We were very glad we did go. Again another small town around Lake Pichola. We were also lucky getting another great guest house with amazing views over the lake from the restaurant terrace. They also had little cushioned areas where you could sit in the shade on the terrace over looking the lake. In the spirit of relaxing as this was still the frame of mind we were in, we spent a lot of time here :). It was way too hot to do anything else anyway in the middle of the day, or so we told ourselves. Highlights included doing a lovely little boat trip around the lake which also has a five star luxury hotel in the middle of it. We visited the city palace which had a couple of enticingly nice looking but expensive restaurants and bars within serving amazing looking cocktails. It was around this point I happened to be seriously overheating and started irrationally telling Tom it was totally fine to spend a silly amount of money on the juicy ice filled cocktails people were drinking right under my nose. He had to take me away but only on the proviso that we'd come back at happy hour! So we went and watched the sunset which was lovely. This also gave me chance to cool down and we came back for happy hour and I had my first red wine since being away. It was beeeeautiful :). Tom then decided more alcohol was required so we went into one of the other palaces surrounding the lake and had some more drinks whilst overlooking the lake. My wine actually came with a mini cheese platter! Actual cheese! Needless to say I was very excited by this. So again our time was mostly spent relaxing and planning the next couple of weeks of our trip which I don't think will be quite so slow paced!
