Have just returned from a 2 day trip up the great ocean road, it was Amazing.
We set off on the 29th oct and stayed that night in Lorne which is the start of the great ocean road, beaches were lovely and is a little surfing town. me and sarah have decided to collet surf beads in the majority of the places we visit as a little souviner for ourselves, i got a little pink one with beads on is quite cute.
That evening we went out for dinner in Lorn to a beach side resturant, it wasnt the nicest and was freezing cold in there, alot of others were complaining too but we got money off and a steak meal for free so wasnt all bad :). we went out for a few drinks after and had a really nice evening just the three of us, me sarah and steve-o.
The following morning 30th Oct we set of along the great ocean road, it was really windy but well worth the travel sickness to see the most wonderful sites. our first stop was the 12 aposills which there are now only 9 of due to errosion causeing them to collapse, it was beautiful i have got some great pictures. we all came away from the aposills thinking, it was strange how a few rocks with amazing surroundings can all seem to put life into perspective and make you feel this is your one chance to live your life to the full with no regrets!!
After the 12 aposils we drove on further to a thunder cave which was really cool alought you couldent go down to it it was still amazing to see, after that we walked down to a cove which had a history behind it where an english ship had once sailed and crashed into the rocks killing all but two people on board a man and a woman it was crazy to think how they survived and climbed to safety as we had to walk down so many steps to get there, history was never my strong point so im afraid thats as much detail about that i retained.
the next stop was another beach which when you went down you could see the 12 apossols in the distance, again they were incredible views, with the white sand and clear blue waters although the sea was freezing.
we then started to drive back and stopped off on the way home at a waterfall, it was beautiful, we had to walk through like a rain forrest to get to it. we were not dressed in the rite attire due to being on the beach in shorts and flip flops or 'thongs' as they say but it added to the journey and was a laugh for steve watching us freek out due to being scared of seeing spiders or snakes, thankfully we didnt see any of them.
We then drove home stopping for dinner on the way thankfully it was nice this time.
This is definatly one of thoes things too tick off my bucket list and if you ever get the opportunity you have to do it yourselves!!
