Everyone was excited about Queenstown, some where looking forward to the exteme sports, some had their eyes on Furburger, and the Canadian brothers were planing to find work. Personally we were happy to get back to civilisation bars, shops, people. Pulling into Queenstown we had the basics pointed out yummy places to eat, hostels ect. First night we were staying at Base, only because it was our last night all together, after that we were booked into the highly reccommended Nomads hostel. This is the second Base we've stayed in and its fair to say i really don't like them. They are mostly for backpackers who are there to drink and make idiots of themselves. So after a not so successful meal and a few cheap drinks in their, no where near as good as Wellington, bar we headed into Queenstown for an awesome / entirely random night, best bar had teapots i can't remember the name but anyone who as been to Queenstown will know. At the end of the night we said our sad goodbyes as most people where heading south and we were staying on here for a few days. Checking into Nomads on day 2 cheered us right up though. We had decided to treat ourselves to a private room with our own bathroom.. yay! It was lovely. Unfortunately it was also the day kev came down with my horrible cold and was refusing to get up and going, this meant missing out on Milford Sounds, he didn't feel up to the 13hr trip so instead over the 2 final days we went for a stroll round town, it really is much smaller than you expect, ate a furburger the size of my head and went up the gondala to the top of the mountain for some beautiful views and a milkshake. We also decided to follow lonely planets advise and have a pizza from Cow, highly recommended although i'd go in the evening as its really dark and was a shame to waste a sunny day.
That was pretty much our 3 days Queenstown is a lovely but stange place full of beautiful shops, restaraunts and expensive houses and a lot of backpackers throwing themselves off anything high enough. We loved it.
