Hi!
It's been a little while when I have last time written my blog. We have been travelling a lot during the last 3 weeks, so I haven't been much in front of my computer, but I have collected a big punch of travelling tips for you. :)
Here is the story of our fist trip to the neighbour province. This place is something you shouldn't miss if you're in China:
In the beginning of April we had a long weekend because 6th of April is a national holiday in here. We wanted to take all the advantage of this and we booked a longer trip to Guangxi province. First we went to a placa called Yangshuo. It was like from the fairytale! It took 8 hours by bus to get there, but it was definetely worth of going. When we arrived there it was early in the morning. There were mountains all around us and clouds were very low, felt like I could touch them! :) We had booked a hostel called Monkey Jane's (I really recommend this!). We left our luggage to hostel and went to look for breakfast. Our hostel was right in the main street and very near there was a lovely coffee shop with buffet breakfast (about 4 euros). After breakfast we were full of energy and booked a trip to see some caves. Our hostel stuff talked very good english and were very helpful. After just a little while there was a minivan waiting for us. We drove about 30 minutes away from the city and arrived to a moutain. There was a man with a boat waiting for us. We took the boat into the cave but after few minutes we left the boat and made the rest of the trip by feet. It was such an extreme experience! Mud and water everywhere and in cave there was pretty diffivult to walk. But I think that it was only fun and felt like a little adventure. we walked in the caves about an hour and after that we came out from the other side of the mountain and walked around it back to the place we started the whole trip with the boat. Everybody really enjoyed this adventure and we were so happy that we experienced it.
After this we had dinner in the city Yangshuo. Believe it or not, but we ordered dog meat! It wasn't bad actually, the thought of eating a dog was pretty grous though... In the evening we went to see a famous light show directed by Zhang Yimou, the most popular and famous director in China at the moment. Show costed 15 euros, but was definetely worth of it! In the evening we made a small pub and bar round in the city. Especially in the evening the city center is very touristic place, but I still loved it. we were anyway in the middle of the nature and it felt like we had been in a totally different world.
Next morning was my birthday and somehow the hostelowner Jane knwe it. I got a T-shirt for present and she made morning Mojitos in the roof bar for all of us right in the morning. :D It was just a perfect start for the day. ;) After breakfast and couple morning mojitos we left to the river. We took a 2-hour rivercruise with the bambooboats and it was great! The sights were just unbelievemble and the spirit was perfect. (Picture from the river).
In the evening our italian friends from Guangzhou arrived and we celebrated my birthday. We ordered a dinner for 15 people from our hostel and it cost less than 2 euros each. We ate in the roof of the hostel and scenery was again unbelieveble. Also there was a happyhour now in the roof top bar so I don't have to tell you how fun we had! :D
Next day we continued our trip to Guilin the neighbour city. I will tell more about it soon! :)
