Today was insane.Whoever planned this itinerary was out of their mind to think that you can do both the Muse D'Orsay and the Louvre in one day. When I came to Paris in 6th grade I remember spending a lot of time in both of these museums. They are both so awesome, it is hard to go through them quickly. The Muse D'Orsay was probably my second favorite museum on the trip so far (With the Louvre at a close third).I really enjoyed all the impressionism paintings.I saw the picture that I bought last time I was in Paris. It is one of two sisters playing a piano together. The Muse D'Orsay was also cool because it is a remodeled train station. After that we had lunch and went to the Louvre, which is absolutely enormous and overwhelming. We had to plan out what rooms to go into and what exactly we wanted to see otherwise we wouldn't have had time to see everything we were required to see for our art class.
After the museums we went to the Arc de Triomphe. We climbed to the top.It was a really cool view of the city.It would have been cooler if it hadn't started raining on us.So? funny story.None of the shoes that I brought have any sort of traction suitable for rain.Every time it rains I slip and slide all over the place.Marisa, Nathan, and I were walking to the tunnel at the Arc having a conversation about how badly I was going to fall today due to the bad traction. At that very moment, I saw that we were about to step on a glass panel so grabbed Nathan's arm in order to steady myself.Instead of making myself steady I slip on the glass and knock his legs out from under him.He proceeds to knock Marisa's legs out from under her and we all fell.If the domino fall wasn't already hilarious enough, we were all holding umbrellas that had filled up and none of us could stand back up (because it was too slippery). If the entire day had been super boring it all would have been worthwhile because of this fall!I wish someone would have caught it on camera.
Tonight I had every intention of staying in to do homework since our semester will be over in the next 6 days. However, Jessie has a friend from Paris who wanted to show us around the Paris nightlife, so I went out anyway. It was so much fun.He took us to a lounge playing really loud techno music. It was great. When we were trying to get home at 3:30 in the morning, we missed the last metro and couldn't get a taxi. The taxi conspiracy took for-ev-ver!But we eventually made it.Once we got back at 4am, Jessie and I talked for another hour.I went to bed at 5am and got up at 6am!Fun fun!!
