Well.. We had a pretty uneventful travel day.We were on the bus for what seemed like 24 hours, but was really only 10.If we didn't have to take so many breaks I don't think it would take so long.It would also help if our bus driver, Eduardo, knew how to read the GPS.I think he has gotten us lost at least 4 times. He is kind of crazy.Sometimes he drives like a madman and it seems like we are going to tip on the next turn, but other times we get past by old blind grandmothers. But at least he keeps it interesting. On one of our stops we went to see a really huge aqueduct.Fred (Professor Pearsall- our art professor) said that it was conducted with no mortar or concrete. It was formed completely by gravity.Which is pretty cool because there are a ton of arches in it.So we got to hike around there for an hour or so.I am going to come home with a new appreciation of hiking and the outdoors.I have loved any opportunity we have had to be out in nature.
So.. After our zillion hour bus trip, we finally got to Aix-en-Provence, France. We were only there for one night.A groupof us walked for 30 minutes into town to get dinner. We thought that 3 cheese pizza would be a pretty safe choice, but boy were we wrong.Luckily, they split up all the different kinds of cheese. One of them was horrible? and I love cheese. It smelled like feet! None of us could bare eating it!
Once we got back, Lauren and I had a homework party in our room until 1:30.We have an art project due tomorrow when we get to Florence. So we were all trying to get it finished.Of course, I didn't get mine done, but I have 12 hours tomorrow!
I really hope this trip can change my opinion of France.I was not a fan of Paris when we went to the first time, and I was not super impressed tonight, but hopefully it will get better!I don't think it could possibly compare to Spain though!
