September 19, 2013 Thursday Day 75 Cold, 40s, rainy, misty morning. Cleared up a little so we took a scenic drive to Miles Canyon. Spectacular 200 foot columns of basalt rock with the teal, turquoisy Yukon River rushing through. We hiked The Yukon River Loop Trail along the ridge of the canyon for an hour or so. September 18, 2013 Wednesday Day 74 Another cold, but sunny beautiful morning. We left Haines Junction Yukon and headed out for a short 2 hour drive to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory's capital. More than two thirds of the population of the Yukon Territory live in Whitehorse (population around 27,000). We stopped for gas and breakfast at Glacier View Restaurant. September 16, 2013 Monday Day 72 We were getting ready to leave Valdez this morning and a bear was right outside our camper, about 20 feet away.
