Today we decided to explore the south part of the strip so set off in the morning and walked to the MGM Grand first. They have a lion enclosure there but because the hotel is having a renovation they weren't there. Ian of course had to say to a member of staff "they're not dead are they?"! We actually managed to sleep in until around 9:30am which was the longest we had slept in all holiday. We started off in Lake Havasu, it was another early morning start. We went for a stroll around the lake in the 44 degree heat, it wasn't even past 12pm and it was this hot! We left palm springs around 10ish today & headed for lake havasu and another hotel. Sat nav told us 189 miles and ians weather app said it was above 40. After our hotel move from the night before we soon settled into our room at the Hilton. It was even better because they even let us have the suite for 2 nights, so no single beds! We had a lazy morning and in the afternoon we decided to drive out to the zoo which was about 20 minutes away only to get there and it was closed so we had a drive back through the town instead. The main thing about palm springs is that it is hot (40 everyday!), dry, lots of palm trees...
