Man Singapore is amazing! This is my second time going there now - once with Grandad on our way back from Europe. I love the mix of west and east! A short visit but really great!
On Thursday I finished classes for semester and then Friday arvo I flew down to Singapore. It's only about an hour flight so really easy and I got the whole row to myself! I caught the train to downtown and got off just near my hotel in Bugis, which is a couple of kms away from the centre part. It was raining a bit so I just chilled in the hotel in the arvo and watched some Bones - boring yes but it trip for relaxing so I'm okay with it! For dinner I went and met up with Gagan which was great! He took me to a place called Chjmes which was really beautiful and had a bunch of restaurants and bars. We had pizza and garlic bread which was amazing!! We went for a wander down to the marina afterwards - Singapore is just so beautiful!
On Saturday I went out exploring for the day - I went to a couple of museums and saw the parliament and the courts! In the afternoon Alfian came with Gagan and picked me up. We went and had dinner at a hawker centre and they made me try all new food which was fun haha! After dinner we went to Gardens by the Bay and roamed around. There was an acro crew rehearsing there which was cool to watch! I had an awesome time just hanging out and catching up!
I met with Gagan again for brunch in Arab St which is kind of like the hipster area so cool murals and small cafes! We ended up both having desserts haha I got apple pie with icecream which was so so yum!! Afterwards we wandered up to meet Pratz and Ria for lunch at a place called Marche which I'm in love with - its a cool mismatch of food stalls where you can get anything your heart desires and then at the end you just scan your dining card and they tell you the bill! The garlic bread I had was awesome!
In the afternoon I went to the airport and just chilled before my flight at 7pm. A short trip but its so close and easy to come here so I'm sure I'll be back later in the year!
