We were so excited as we flew in to Penang! Definitely don't enjoy arriving at night since you can't see much but our hostel had waited up to check us in which was lovely since it was well after midnight!

I unfortunately got very sick in Penang. It was called acute gastroenteritis and treated as food poisoning but I ended up going to hospital on Sunday after spending most of Saturday in not great shape.

Shout out to Queen's Hostel in Georgetown for their amazing staff and support. They were checking in on me the whole time and helped recommend a hospital. Nic was also really supportive and helped tell my fam and respond to doctors when it got too much for me.

I did end up missing an exam as I chose to stay longer and get more care. Definitely an expensive experience but thankful for travel insurance!! I was discharged Tuesday and have my flight booked home on Friday so just got to get through these couple of exams and my exchange will be all wrapped up!

Didn't get to see much in Penang at all so it remains on the list but happy it's all fine!
