We left Bad Oeynhausen bright and early – well 8am – in full wet weather gear and without breakfast. The day was cold so the gear was to keep us warm. It was also quite windy. So by the time we reached our breakfast stop we were cold and a little weary from battling the breeze. A warm coffee, pastries and a little nap for Greg and it was off to Assen. Wednesday 22.06.2011 - we left Amsterdam and decided to ride through the Dutch countryside on the way to our digs at Stadskanaal about 35 kms west of Assen. The ride through the countryside was great, we even saw a windmill! We were forced to stop and wait while four yachts went through a canal to reach the Dutch inland sea. We also decided to stop at the track at Assen to get our bearings and hopefully to pick up our tickets that we had bought on the net week...
