so apparently, back in the day, a group of Mauri brothers went fishing. one of the little brothers hid in the canoe and waited for the boat to get out far into the ocean, and pounced out from under the sheets he was hiding under in a, "ha ha, you have to deal with me being here ALL DAY," kind of way.

well, little did the brothers know, but this youngest brother happened to be a demi-god. (part man, part god.)

once they started fishing, the little demi-god annoying brother put in his hook and instantly felt a pull at his line. he felt a pull way too big to be any fish which should be in this area of the waters. he pulled, and pulled harder, his brothers giving him support, and in a spot of luck, he managed to catch the "north island" and pulled it right out of the water to where it lays now. (if you look at the north island on a map it looks like a giant sting ray.)

wow! thought the boys! the demi-god (lets call him chesney) thought nothing of it and pushed away the older brothers calls saying he fluked it. they decided on a double or quits scenario, with the demi-god losingmuch more than his shame if he failed to do something miraculus again.

so he put in his line, and f*** be known, out came the south island! (if you look at the map, the south island was his, if anything hugely over-sized, fishing rod) the little island under neath is the boat they fished in that day.

either that or, 4 huge tectonic plates moved and cracked the ocean floor a few hundred years ago and split one bit of land into 3 pieces. our tour guide liked the sound of the first one MUCH more. what a p****

anyway, Auckland is pretty ace. "the biggest play ground" in the world. with bunjy jumps off all the bridges and into all the kanyons, (140 meters the biggest drop) base jumping off of the sky tower (the biggest building on the south peninsular) to sky diving from 15,000 feet out of a plane over the rotario mountains, the government have taken away the right to sue for personal injury!!

the weather is wierd, pretty cold, grey, wet then bright and mildly warm at a click of a fingers. the fontotoro island just of the north island is from day to day over 3 degrees warmer than the main land of the north island because of the Eastern Australian Current. (the thing Nemo and squirt the cool sea turtle rode in finding nemo) the rivalry is so big that the Kiwis instead call it the Eastern Auckland Current. total w***ers.

Mauris are much better than the Aboes and the Kiwis are much better than the Ozzies.

we love New Zealand, the fast food is very cheap indeed. however we have all put on about 9 stone and now look...........american X
