Set off by underground to Kelvingrove Musem. How great was this?? So much to see and do. Loved it! Had lunch there -without John S who had to work. Walked on to the Botanic Gardens-picking up a lady who fell on the disgraeful Glasgow pavements on the way. Lovely hot houses and palm house. Back on the underground to meet J S in a tearoom. Did some art galleries and back to the Hotel. Champagne party in C and Js room before dinner at the Two Fat Ladies. Very good...

Off by train to The Burrell Collection. SO interesting and housed in a most unusual modern building. Unfortunately it is a case of design over utility and it will have to close for 18 months to be reroofed. Had a guided tour from a most informed guy. So helpful. Setting off for our Scotfish break. Lots of evidence of flooding and worse to come we are told over next 24hrs. Great accommodation(1st Class) with plenty of wine!! Met up with the Team,caught up with news and had a lovely meal in the Hotel -the Blythwood. Extremely smart on a quiet square. Only problem is our room has no window and a very strange 'balcony ' which is sort of internal at the bottom of a lift shaft!!!

Girls up early (!) and decorated the Christmas Tree. After breakfast they played on the new pool table that C and I had sledges down the cellar steps and set up. They also had scrape pictures todo and nail makeovers and false diamanté eyelashes that they wore to go home!!! Via MacDonalds!! I cleared up and came home

C, J and three friends arrived to celebrate J's birthday with a trip to the lantern procession and fireworks. Had a 'birthday' lunch and got the lanterns out of the roof. Surprisingly undismayed after several uses and years of storage. Weather kept fine and tho well wrapped up it was very pleasant out.
