Two birthday girls today. One 90 and one 4. A day of celebrations and present opening. Lovely food for a luncheon buffet and cake.

Set off back to Rainhill after breakfast via the Lakes to check out the house. All well and Ian managed to mow the lawn which needed two passes it was so long!! Good journey home.

Children at school today of course. Mother and I went shopping at Cramlington which we enjoyed. We also bought some pansies at Dobbies. Picked D upfrom school and took him to Waitrose until J came out of cookery club with a beautiful cheese cake. A and C back from Krakow at another 9.00pm. They had really enjoyed it but I don't think it was exactly restful!!

Another lovely day weather wize Spent the morning working on Js Roman costume whilst Ian took D to rugby practice where he scored 7 tries. After lunch we set off for Seaton Delavey which is a NT property which is still being restored. Well worth a visit. The children enjoyed dressing up there.

Dropped J at dancing and then she was going to Oliver with Granny. Meanwhile we took D up to Beadnell to do some checking and gardening etc. the weather was amazing. Sunny and warm and the beach looked simply wonderful. Found the new back door had been beautifully fitted and the garden looked lovely. Unfortunately it appeared someone had been swinging on the gate and pulled the whole post complete with hinges and gate, out of the wall. Ian needed to be very skilf...
