On our way to Chitimba we stopped off at a crossroads where there were lots of huts selling tourist things like little chairs and tables. We decidedto buy a table just because it looks so good and the legs are made out of one branch of wood. It also comes apart so was quite easy for us to put in our bags the good thing about being in the truck is that you never have to carry your bags. This table also has a reversible table top and one side has a picture of Africa and the other side has a chess top I wanted one that had the Malawi game of bao but none had both africa and bao so we settled for a chess side. When we were bartering we were still trying to get him down when he said that we also got chess pieces as well. So we just decided to deal then and there as it was a bargain probably about £15. The chess pieces are so cool as well because they are little African people and the rooks are little huts. I'm now glad we got a chess set on one side.
When we arrived at Chitimba we got a Malawi chair to order for a backpack in exchange for tshirts and shorts of Dans so in the end we only had to pay about $10. We also exchanged torches and biscuits for necklaces as apart from Zambia there wasn't really opportunities to buy anything. Then we went for a walk into town and met a boy called albert who lived with his grandma because his parents and siblings had died. We met his grandma and neighbours and gave him our address so he can write to us. He was very sweet, then we went to have a look at the beach which is so pretty.
That night we watched Charlies videos of leopard and the video of when a boy threw a rock at our windscreen and we chased him down we found him and he wet himself because he was so scared of us muzungos (white people). Although this sounds horrible he was around 23 and could've killed us! It was amazing seeing the animals on a big screen as Charlie has that videocamera that has a projector built in so it was like being at the cinema.
We could hear them building our chair from outside the campsite as they were doing it there to use the campsites lighting. Our chair is amazing and you can sit on it aswell even though its small-light people only!! The fact we actually got to design it and see it being built is a really good feeling and we were helping local people as well!
