i only wanted to go to bologna becasue it seemed really central so we didnt have to constatly keep moving and we could have a base for the next 5 days- really should have picked somewhere closer to the train station ever day we had a 3 km to the station and a 3 km back to the hotel! luckily we were fit enough to do this by onw but with backpack it was awful! we were like on the outskirts of bologna on some sort of motorway! however the hotel was lovely!! sosososo nice! the best place we stayed! we managed to save some money being with mum those last few days and splurged on steak twice from the same chain as the one in rome it was sooo good! and then we had a burgerking across the road which was a servce station but that was literally it near our hotel which was a bit of a shame! we were planniong on seeing the famous horse race in siena as it didnt look that far away but it turned out it would take us forever to get there as there were no direct trains and it would be a 20 hur day almost. we were so worn out that that is not what we wanted at all! so we decided to literally just to stay in our hotel for the whole day instead. it was lovely. breakfast ws included which was nice and we just did nothign for the whole day which might sound like a waste but we really really needed it! we did also spend a full day in bologna centre but it was a holiday in italy and so everything was shut but it was very pretty and we saw the two towner that thre famous for from like the 14th century - bologna was full of tall towers- the richer you are the taller your tower and you would thrown things from your tower at people you didnt like?! weirdddd!

didnt manage to get a spag bol in bologna - the steak was just too yummy!
