Our walk this morning involved jostling with peak season tourist crowds as we covered the Main Street and down to the Sunday Markets at the watersedge. Massive! The next three days were spent relaxing and enjoying Port Douglas. Saturday morning it was so nice to get up when we wanted...have some fruit and head off for a walk around town then to the beach. Perfect morning as we headed off after beekkie for our hour drive south back down that beautiful coast road to Freshwater station to start our Kuranda adventure. Arrived with plenty of time for a coffee on the platform cafe before the 9am departure of the iconic Kuranda Scenic Railway. What an awesome hour and a half trip - comfy, relaxing and so so scenic! Rainforests never disappoint - definitely heard rain during the night....but once again it wasn't long and the sun was shinning! Packed up and cooked brekkie and were saying goodbye to the Daintree before 9am. Drove straight to the ferry and fortunately only had to wait for the ferry to complete its crossing and we were on board.
