Best breakfast of the week goes to Thon Hotel, Harstad. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to enjoy it as we had a plane to catch. We finished the week as we started, pouring with rain. After a leisurely breakfast, we took our leave of Eliassen and headed back over the Lofoten islands to Harstad. It was as if we were experiencing a quick recap of our holiday this week but in the sunshine. It was an excellent opportunity to compare north and south as we travelled high up into the mountains again.  Our room in the Thon Hotel enjoys a superb view over Vags Fjord. We enjoy a lovely meal in the adjoining Egon restaurant.

We awoke to a gloriously sunny morning although the temperature was still on 7 degrees. We decided to walk over the mountain to Kvalviks Beach from Fredvang. Located in an isolated bay on the northern side of Moskenesoy and only reached by foot, Kvalvika feels as though it could be at the edge of the world. We enjoyed a short but spectacular drive today through the heart of the Lofoten archipelago, winding down the E10 towards Hamnoya where we will stay at the Eliassen Rorbuer for three nights.
